Apricot Lap Quilt

Perfect for those chilly evenings or when you are feeling a little under the weather. Alternatively, use them as study quilts for those going off to college. Keep warm during those long hours of study; whether sitting at a computer or reading a book!

The block design on this lap quilt is called, Formal Garden, and is made from a lovely rich apricot patterned fabric with contrasting fabrics in paler peaches. Quilted and machine Tied, it has tiny little heart shaped buttons, sewn on in some of the blocks, these match the hearts and colours on the contrasting fabric. The reverse of the quilt is also peach with the same little heart shaped buttons that match the front. 

Approx. 47.5" x 47.5"

Tied quilts will not have the same flat appearance as one that has been quilted in running stitch; rather it will be soft and billowy. As I use 4 oz batting which is very hard to quilt but makes lovely warm patchworks, I tend to use a combination of both types. 
You can Tie a quilt in different ways; the knot can be on the front or the back of the quilt, you can make fluffy tufts, use buttons, little bells or bows to enhance the work, really whatever pleases you.
