Pebbles Lap Quilt

Perfect for those chilly evenings or when you are feeling a little under the weather. Alternatively, use them as study quilts for those going off to college. Keep warm during those long hours of study; whether sitting at a computer or reading a book!

As you can see from the photographs this lap quilt is made from beach themed fabric. Lots of pebbles, some water and the most gorgeous little foot prints in the sand. 
 I have hand Tied this quilt using tiny little polished stones in green and sand colours. 
  
Tied quilts will not have the same flat appearance as one that has been quilted in running stitch; rather it will be soft and billowy. As I use 4 oz batting which is very hard to quilt but makes lovely warm patchworks, I tend to use a combination of both types. 
You can Tie a quilt in different ways; the knot can be on the front or the back of the quilt, you can make fluffy tufts, use buttons, little bells or bows to enhance the work, really whatever pleases you.
